A floor is 5m long and 4m wide. A square carpet of 3m sides is laid on the floor. Find the area of the foot not carpeted

Answer:

Area of floor = lb = 5×4 = 20m

Area of carpet = a² = 3² = 9m

Area of floor not carpeted = 20-9 = 11m
