A floor is 9 m long and 6 m wide. A square carpet of side 4 m is laid on the floor. Find the area of the floor that is not carpeted

Given :

Length of the floor is 9m

The breadth of the floor is 6m

So, ( applying ar. l×b )

ar. of floor =9m×6m=54m

. Side of the carpet is 4m

So, (applying ar. of sq. =side×side(s))

area of carpet=4m×4m=16m

To find the area of the floor that is not carpeted or (uncarpeted) we will (−) minus the ar. of the floor from ar. of carpet

area which is not carpeted or( uncarpeted ) =20m
