a floor is 9 metre long and 6 metre wide a square carpet of side 4 is laid on the floor find the area of the floor that is not carpeted​

Given :

Length of floor is 9m

Breadth of the floor is 6m

So, ( applying are. l × b )

ar. of floor =9m×6m=54m2. Side of the carpet is 4m

So, (applying are. of sq. = side × side (s) )

area of carpet=4m×4m=16m2.

To find the area of the floor that is not carpeted or (uncarpeted) we will (-) minus the are of floor from are of carpet

area which is not carpeted or( uncarpeted ) =54m2-16m2

=38m2.

Hence, the ans. Is 38m sq.
