Step-by-step explanation:

Length of floor is 5m

Breadth of the floor is 4m

So, ( applying ar. l × b )

ar. of floor =4m×5m=20m2. Side of the carpet is 3m

So, (applying ar. of sq. = side × side (s) )

area of carpet=3m×3m=9m2.

To find the area of the floor that is not carpeted or (uncarpeted) we will (-) minus the ar. of floor from ar. of carpet

area which is not carpeted or( uncarpeted ) =20m2-9m2

=11m2.

Hence,the ans. Is 11m sq.

Answer:

38 square metres of the floor can't be carpeted.

Step-by-step explanation:

the floor is 9×6= 54 square metres

the carpet is 4×4= 16 square metres

after carpeting the floor the remaining will be

54 - 16 = 38 square metres.

Hope it will help.

Happy New year.
