Given :

  • Dimensions of a floor :-
  • Length of the floor = 7 m
  • Breadth of the floor = 2.8 m
  • Dimensions of the tile :-
  • Side of the tile = 35 cm

To find :

  • Number of Tiles to be used for the floor

Solution :

Firstly, we will find the area of the floor by using the formula of area of rectangle.

Area of rectangle = l × b

where,

  • l = length of the rectangle
  • b = breadth of the rectangle

Substituting the given values,

⇒ Area = 7 × 2.8

⇒ Area = 19.6

Area of the floor = 19.6 m²

Now, we will find the area of the tile by using the formula of area of square.

Area of square = side²

Substituting the given value,

⇒ Area = (35)²

⇒ Area = 1225

Area of tiles = 1225 cm²

Convert the area of tiles from cm² into m².

As we know,

❖ 1 cm² = 0.0001 m²

To convert the value from cm² into m², divide the value by 10000.

⇒ 1225/10000

⇒ 0.1225 m²

Area of the tiles = 0.1225 m²

Now to find the number of tiles divide the area of floor by area of tiles.

No. of tiles = Area of floor/Area of tiles

Substituting the given values,

⇒ No. of tiles = 19.6/0.1225

⇒ No. of tiles = 160

Number of tiles required = 160.

{\boxed{\underline{\tt{ \orange{Required  \:  \: Answer:-}}}}}

彡GIVEN:-

  • Length of Rectangle = 7m

  • Breadth of Rectangle = 2.8m

  • Side of Square = 0.35m

彡TO FIND:-

  • Tiles needed

彡FORMULA USED:-

  • Area of square = Side × Side

  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

  • \tt{No.  \:  \: of \:  \:  Tiles =  \frac{Area \:  \:  of  \:  \: Rectangle}{Area \:  \:  of \:  \:  Square} }

彡SOLUTION:-

★Area of square = Side × Side

Area of square = (0.35 × 0.35) sq. m

★Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

Area of Rectangle = (7 × 2.8) sq. m

\tt{No.  \:  \:  of  \:  \: Tiles =  \frac{(7 × 2.8)}{(0.35 × 0.35)}  }

No. of Tiles = 19.6/0.1225

{\boxed{\underline{\pink{\mathbb{Tiles = 160  }}}}}
