A floor of a room is 9m *6.75m. It is to be paved with square tiles of the marble of the same size. Find the greatest measurement of tiles. Find least possible number of such tiles.

for this we need to take out HCF of 9m &6.75m

or

900cm & 675cm

900= 2*5*2*5*3*3

675=3*3*5*5*3

HCF=3*3*5*5

=225

Let side of the tiles be s

ATP

(s)^2 = 60.75

s = 7.79422863

Area of the square tiles = (side)^2

= (7.79422863×7.79422863)

= 60.7499999

No of tiles = 60.75/60.7499999

= 100.000002 tiles
