a flooring tile has the shape of a parallelogram whose base is 24 cm and the corresponding height is 10cm. How many such tiles are required to cover a floor of area 1080 m^2?

Explanation:

base of tile = 24 cm

height of tile = 10 cm

area of 1 tile = base *height

= 24*10

= 240 cm ^2

are of floor = 1080 cm ^ 2

no. of tiles = area of floor / area of 1 tile

= 1080/240

= 4.5

= 4 1/2 tiles are required
