90000 parallogram shape tiles  of side 12 cm and height 5 cm are required to cover a floor of area 540 m²

Given:

  • Flooring tile in the shape of parallelogram
  • Base = 12 cm and corresponding height = 5 cm

To Find:

  • Number of tiles required to cover floor of area 540 m²

Solution:

  • Area of a parallelogram = Base x Height
  • 1 m² = 10000 cm²

Step 1:

Find area of a tile  using Area of a parallelogram and substitute  base = 12 cm and height = 5 cm

Area of a tile : 12 x 5 = 60 cm²

Step 2:

Convert floor area in cm² by using 1 m² = 10000 cm²

Floor area = 540 x 10000 cm²

Step 3:

Divide Floor area by tile area to find number of tiles required to cover the floor

Number of tiles = 540 x 10000 / 60

=> Number of tiles = 9 x 10000

=> Number of tiles = 90000

Hence, 90000 parallogram shape tiles  of side 12 cm and height 5 cm are required to cover a floor of area 540 m²
