base of a tile=5cm

area of one tile=height×base

                         =5×3=15cm²

area of 280 tiles=280×15=4200cm²

rate of polishing one tile=1.50 rupees per sq cm

total cost of polishing tiles=4200×1.50

                                            =Rs 6300
