A flower bed in a garden is in the shape of a triangle. The longest side is 3 times the middle side and smallest side is 2 units shorter than the middle side. Let P represent the length of the middle side, then what’s the perimeter in terms of P?

Solution.

Let, the middle side of triangle, AB be P.
then, the longest side of triangle, AC be 3P.
and shortest side of triangle, BC be (P-2).

Now, the perimeter of triangle ABC,
➡AB + BC + AC
➡P + P-2 + 3P
➡5P - 2.

Hence the perimeter of triangle is (5P-2) units.

Hope this will help you. ✌✌☺
