The linear speed of the point on its rim is 3 meter per second.

  • The flywheel is giving 60 rotations per minute. Now a minute consists of 60 seconds. So it rotates 60 times in 60 second. So in 1 second it rotates only 1 time. So angular speed = 1 rps
  • Again the radius of the wheel is 3 meter.
  • We know that linear speed = radius * angular speed
  • So the linear speed of the point on it's rim = 3 * 1 = 3 meter per second.
