Answer:

Here goes your answer.

Explanation:

Given:

  1. Focal Length of the mirror (f) = 15 cm
  2. Object distance (u) = -10 cm

To find: The Image distance.

We know that:

1/f = 1/u + 1/v

=> 1/15 = 1/-10 + 1/v

=> 1/v = 1/-15 - 1/-10

=> 1/v = -2+3/30

=> 1/v = 1/30

=> v = 30.............(i)

As the image distance is positive it is clear that the image is formed behind the  mirror. It is a virtual image...........(ii)

It is also clear that image height is greater than object height [ Magnification  (m) = - v/u ]. Hence the mirror is a concave mirror.

Hope this helps. If you have any clarification regarding the answer then please feel free to ask.
