A food chain consists of several organisms. suppose one of the organisms in the chain disappears. what effects can this have on the other organisms in the food chain

The effects could be. (Plants → deers → lions)

For Eg- a hunter kills all the lions in a jungle. There is no one to eat deers. So deers increase in number. Deers eat and finish all the plants. Plants decrease in number and then they are finished. Deers have nothing to eat and then they have die. The food chain is over.

a chain of series shows who eats whom in an ecosystem is called a food chain or a .it shows the interdependence of various organism for its food so if anyone organism in the food chain disappears then it will affect the ecosystem and causes imbalance to it
