A food chain is formed of only 3 to 4 tropic levels. Why?

Answer:

Because according to the 10% law only 10%energy is transferred to the next tropic level of preceeding trophic level and if there would be more than 4 trophic levels the energy that will be transferred to the last trophic level would be negligible and hence the chance of survival will minimise resulting the extinction ..
