a) Sodium bicarbonate is a basic salt whereas baking powder is baking soda + a mild acid resulting into a basic salt.
But ,
Sodium Bicarbonate is a stronger basic salt than the resulting base from the above reaction.
b)baking powder is baking soda + a mild acid resulting into a basic salt.
Eg: NaHCO₃+CH₃COOH resulting into CH₃COONa+H₂0+CO₂
