A force 100 N acts on a body. If the units of mass and
length are doubled and unit of time is halved, then
the force in the new system changes to
(A) 160 N
(8) 1.6 N
(C) 16 N
(D) 1600 N

Answer:1600

Explanation:

F=ma

Also F=mv/t

But v=l/t

So,F is proportional to ml/t^2

The new dimension of force is 1600 N and option(D) is correct.

Explanation:

Given:

A force 100 N acts on a body.

The units of mass and length are doubled and unit of time is halved.

To Find:

The force in the new system changes.

Solution:

As given,A force 100 N acts on a body.

Let magnitude of force = 100N

Mass=M, Length=L and Time =T

Dimension of force F =[MLT^{-2}]

                       [MLT^{-2}]=100

For the new system change.

As given,the units of mass and length are doubled and unit of time is halved.

ass M'=2 M

Length L'=2 L

Time T'=\frac{1}{2} T

The new dimension of force  =[M'L'T'^{-2}].

                    [M'L'T'^{-2} ]=[2M. 2L.( \frac{T}{2} )^{-2} ]

                                       =16[MLT^{-2} ]

  The new dimension of force F =16\times100

                                                                =1600 N

Thus, the new dimension of force is 1600 N and option(D) is correct.
