Answer:

We know:

Net Force = mass x acceleration

The trolley is moving at a UNIFORM velocity of 2 m/s

50N of force is being applied to move the trolley at 2 m/s.

Since it is a constant velocity, there is no acceleration.

Since there is no acceleration, a = 0.

net force = 60 x 0 = 0.

Since net force is 0, we know all the forces acting on the trolley have to be equal and opposite, thereby “cancelling” each other out.

In the vertical direction, we know the cart’s weight force(downward vector) is cancelled by the normal force(upward vector).

Now in the horizontal direction: 50N is being applied to move the trolley. Therefore, the force of friction must be 50N in the other direction to achieve a net force of 0!

Explanation:

The given

Force(f)=50N

Mass(m)=40kg

Friction force=0

coefficient of friction formula

f=miuN

we can apply

=0/50

=0
