A force acts for 10 s on a stationary body of mass
100 kg after which the force ceases to act. The body
moves through a distance of 100 m in the next 5 s.
Calculate : (i) the velocity acquired by the body,
(ii) the acceleration produced by the force, and (iii)
the magnitude of the force.

Let initial velocity = u = 0

Using equation of motion, v = u +at = 0+a(10) = 10a

distance in 10 sec = s = vt = 100=10a(5)a=2m/s 2

∴v=10a=10(2)m/s=20m/s

from the Sir Isaac newton's second law of motion

F = ma

F = 100*8

F = 800N
