Given:-

F = i + 4j

To Find:-

Force of Friction acting on the block is = ?

Solution:-

The maximum value of friction is \sf{f_max}=µN

Here N + 4 = mg = 10

\sf{\implies}N = 6N

\sf\implies{f_max}=0.4 × 6 = 2.4N

But applied force in horizontal direction is \sf{f_h}=1N

\sf{f_h<f_max}.

So, static friction comes into play.

Fh= f

f =1N

f = -i
