A force gives an object of m, an acceleration of12 m/s2 and an object of mass m, an accelerationof 10 m/s2. The ratio of accelerations the forcewould give to an object of mass m2 - m, andm2 + m(1) 4:1(2) 2:1(3) 10:1(4) 11:1

1) m1 = F/12

2) m2 = F/3.8

Combining, m2/m1 = 3.1578

Ergo, m2-m1 = m1*(3.1578- 1) = 2.1578m1

a(2-1) = 12/2.1578 = 5.56 m/s²

a(2+1) = 12/(3.1578+1) = 2.886 m/s²
