The correct question is:

A force is acting on a body moving along x-axis in the direction of motion of the body. if the force produces a potential energy U = Ax⁴, where A = 1.2 J m⁻⁴, then what is the force acting on the body when the body is at x = -0.8 m?

Given:

Potential energy  U = Ax⁴

A = 1.2 J m⁻⁴

To find:

Force acting on the body at x = -0.8 m

Solution:

We know that for a conservative potential ,force in terms of potential energy is F= -dU/dx

Therefore F = - Ax⁴/dx = -4Ax³

At distance x = -0.8 m:

Putting all the values in the equation we get:

F = -4*1.25*(-0.8)³

F = 2.4576 N

Therefore the force acting on the body will be 2.4576 N.
