A force is applied on a body of mass 0.9 kg that is at rest . The force is applied for a duration of 5s and as a result the body covers a distance of 250m . Find the magnitude of the force.

mass (m) = 0.9 kg

distance (s) = 250m

time (t) = 5s

now, s = ut + 1/2 at^2 [a = acceleration of body ]

or, 250 = 0 + 1/2 a(5)^2

or, a = (250×2)/25

or, a = 20 m/s^2

Force = ma = 0.9 ×20 N = 18 N
