The value of the force applied is 144 N.

Explanation:

Given mass, m = 16 kg.

The mass moves a distance, d = 81m in time t = 3s

The velocity,

v = 81 m/3 s = 27 m/s.

Since mass moves in 3 s is 81 m when the force removed.

Therefore, the mass moves with uniform velocity (no acceleration) for next 3 s.

a = (27 m/s - 0)/(3s)

a = 9 m/s ^ 2

Now to calculate the force use Newton law of motion,

F= ma

F = 16 kg * 9 m/s ^ 2

F = 144N

Thus, the value of the force applied ( in first 3 s) is 144 N.
