A force of 10 N gives a mass M1,an acceleration of 10m/s^2. Same force gives mass M2 an acceleration of 20m/s^2. What will be the acceleration if both masses are tied together and pull with same force of 10N?

Explanation:

Given:- Force F = 10N

When mass is m1 then Acceleration a1 = 10ms-2

When mass is m2 then Acceleration a2 = 20ms-2

Also F = ma

10 = m1x 10

=1kg

Also 10 = m2 x 20

=0.5kg

m2=0.5 kg

Total mass of the system M= m1 + m2

M = (1 + 0. 5)

=1.5 kg

10 = (1.5 x a)

or

Or a= 6.66ms-2
