A force of 10 N produces an acceleration of 20 m/s2 on a mass m1 and an acceleration of 30 m/s2 on a mass m2 . What acceleration would the same force provide if both the masses are tied together ?

=>10=(1/2+1/3)*a

10=(2+3)/6*a
