a force of 10 Newton gives in mass m1 and acceleration of 2 m/s square and a mass m2 an acceleration of 4 m/s square. what acceleration would it give if both the masses are tied together?

=> m1 = 10/2 = 5 kg

=> 10 = m2 * 4

=> m2 = 10/4 = 2.5

on tieing m1 & m2 , Total mass = 5 +2.5 = 7.5 kg

=> a = F/m

=> a = 10 / Total mass = 10 / 7.5 = 4 / 3

=> a = 4/3 ms^-2 = 1.33 ms^-2
