Magnitude of the Force = 100 N
Area of the surface where it acts = 4 m²
We know,
P = F/A
where,
- P = Pressure,
- F = Magnitude of Force exerted
- A = Area
∴ P = (100 N)/(4 m²)
→ P = 25 N/m²
→ P = 25 Pa (Pascals)
∴ Pressure exerted on the surface was of 25 Pascals.
