Given that the force of 100N makes an angle of 60° with the y axis . For the diagram refer to attachment. On resolving the force into x and y components , we have ,

\sf\dashrightarrow x - component = 100 \ sin 60^o \\

\sf\dashrightarrow y - component = 100 \ cos 60^o

We need to find out the x component , therefore ,

\sf\dashrightarrow x - component = 100 \ sin 60^o \\\\\\\sf\dashrightarrow x - component = 100 * \dfrac{\sqrt3}{2} \\\\\\\sf\dashrightarrow  x - component = \dfrac{ 100 * 1.732}{2} \\\\\\\sf\dashrightarrow\underset{\blue{\sf Required \ Answer }}{\underbrace{\boxed{\frak{\pink{ x - component = 86.6 \ Newton }}}}}
