When a force of 'F' N makes an angle of 'A' degrees with the X-axis then the force can be resolved into two components namely 'FcosA' and 'FsinA' where 'FcosA' acts along the X-axis and 'FsinA' acts along the Y-axis as shown in the figure. Y component of force 100sin(30) =50N.
