Answer:

Area = 40m²

Explanation:

This principle is used in mechanical lifts for lifting heavy loads

We know that,

Pressure = Force / Area

P = F/A

Hence,

Force ∝ 1/Area

F ∝ 1/A

Therefore,

F₁ / F₂ = A₂ / A₁

We know that,

F₁ = 100N

F₂ = 50N

A₁ = 20m²

A₂ = ?

Hence,

F₁ / F₂ = A₂ / A₁

100 / 50 = A₂ / 20

A₂ = 2 × 20

A₂ = 40m²
