A force of 10N acts on a body A of mass 2kg. What is its acceleration?
It then acts on another body B and produces an acceleration of 2.5ms^-2. Find the
mass of B. If this same force acts on the bodies A and B tied together, what would be the acceleration of the combined bodies?

Given:-
- Force Applied = 10N
- Mass of Body "A" = 2kg
- Acceleration of body "B" = 2.5m/s²
To Find:-
- The Acceleration produced on Object "A".
- The Mass of object "B"
- The Acceleration Produced by force in Combined bodies.
Formulae used
- F = ma.
Where,
F = force
m = mass
a = Acceleration.
Now,
For Body "A"
F = ma
10 = 2 × a
a = 10/2
a = 5m/s²
For Body "B"
F = ma
10 = m × 2.5
m = 10/2.5
m = 4kg
Now, Atq.
- if the two bodies A and B will be tied together then their masses will also be Combined
Hence,
F = ma
F = (m¹ + m²)a
12 = (2 + 4)a
12 = 6a
a = 12/6
a = 2m/s².
So, The accceleration Produced by force on Combined body is 2m/s².
