Force = 10 N = mass * acceleration --- from Newton's law.
Acceleration of mass m1 = F / m1 = 5 m/sec²
mass m1 = 10/5 = 2 kg
Acceleration of m2 = 15 m/s²
m2 = 10/15 = 2/3 kg.
total mass = m1 + m2 = 8/3 kg when they are tied together.
acceleration = F / mass = 10 N / (8/3) kg = 3.75 m/sec²
Acceleration of mass m1 = F / m1 = 5 m/sec²
mass m1 = 10/5 = 2 kg
Acceleration of m2 = 15 m/s²
m2 = 10/15 = 2/3 kg.
total mass = m1 + m2 = 8/3 kg when they are tied together.
acceleration = F / mass = 10 N / (8/3) kg = 3.75 m/sec²
