force = 10N

Area = 2cm^2 = 2/100×100 =2×10^-4 m^2

pressure = F/A

=10/ 2×10^-4N/m^2

=5×10^4pascal

Concept:

Pressure is defined as force applied perpendicular to the surface per unit area which is given by

P=\frac{F}{A} where,

P is the pressure exerted by the force

F is the force applied perpendicular to the surface

A is the area on which force is acting

Given:

Force of 10N is acting on area of 2 cm^{2}.

To Find:

We are asked to find the pressure exerted by the force

Solution:

By considering the given data,

P=\frac{F}{A}=\frac{10}{2*10^{-4} }

P=\frac{5}{10^{-4} } =5*10^{4} N/m^{2}

Hence the pressure exerted by the force is 5*10^{4}N/m^{2}
