A force of 12 N acts on a mass of 1.5kg at rest for 3s. Find the final velocity and the momentum of the body after 3s.​

Answer:

F=m(v-u) /t .... (i)

We know, F=12 N, u=0 m/s, m=1.5 kg, t=3 sec

Therefore we put these values in (i)

So, 12 = 1.5 (v-0)/3

12 = 0.5 × v

v = 12/0.5 = 24 m/s

Momentum = mv = 1.5 × 24 = 36 kg m/s
