Given that:

    A Force of 20N acts on a rocket

    Force acted for 250 seconds

To Find:

    Change in momentum

Solution:

~ In order to calculate the change in momentum we must know that ::

        ΔP = F × t

Where,

  • ΔP is change in momentum
  •  F is force acting
  •  t is time taken

[ You must know that -  Δ is the sign of delta which represents rate of change of any value as here it is representing change in momentum ]

Finding change in momentum :-

→ 20N × 250s

→ 5000 kg m/s

Henceforth, the change in momentum is 5000 kg m/s.
