Given:-

  • Force,F = 200 N

  • Length of rectangular table = 20 cm

  • Breadth of rectangular table = 10 cm

To be calculated:-

Calculate the Pressure.

Formula used:-

  • Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

  • Pressure = Force/Area

Solution:-

We have,

Length = 20 cm

= 20/100 m

= 0.2 m

Breadth = 10 cm

= 10/100 m

= 0.1 m

We know that,

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

= 0.2 m × 0.1 m

= 0.02 m²

Now,

Pressure = Force/Area

★ Substituting the values of force and area in the above formula,we get:

Pressure = 200 / 0.02

Pressure = 20000/2

Pressure = 10000 N/m²

Pressure = 10000 Pa

Thus,the pressure exerted by rectangular table is 10000 Pascal.
