A force of 4 N acts on a body of mass 2 kg for 4 seconds.
Assuming the object to be initially at rest , find the distance covered in 10 seconds after the force starts acting.

Explain and write all the steps

By Applying Newton's Second Law of Mo

Distance covered by while force is acting:-

S1= (v²-u²)/2a

S1=(8²-0²)/2x2

S1= 16 m

Distance covered while force is not acting:-

S2= ut+1/2at²

So, here will be

u= 8 m/s

t=10s-4s=6 s

a= 0 (no acceleration)

S2= 8x6+1/2 x 0 x 6

S2 = 48 m

So that,

Total distance,

S = S1 + S2

S = (16+48) m = 64 m
