Explanation:

to find=time (t)

force=mass×acceleration

40 =30×acceleration

40/30=acceleration

1.333=acceleration

acceleration =velocity /time

1.333=10/time

time=10/1.333

time=13.33 seconds

Force = F = 40N

Mass = m = 30kg

Initial velocity = u = 0m/s

Final velocity = v = 10m/s

We know that,

Force = Mass * Acceleration

F = ma

a = F/m

a = 40/30 = 4/3 m/s²

Using Newtons Laws of Motion,

v = u + at

10 = 0 + 4/3 * t

4t/3 = 10

t = 3/4 * 10

t = 30/4 = 7.5s

Therefore the force is applied for 7.5s
