a force of,5 N gives a mass m an acceleration of 8m/s'2 and a mass m2 and acceleration of 24 m/s 2 what acceleration on should it give if both the masses are fied together?

Using Newton's second law,

F = m a

5 = M1 × 10

M1 = 5/10 = 0.5 kg

And

5 = M2 × 20

M2 = 5/20 = 0.25 kg

Total mass = 0.5 + 0.25 = 0.75 kg

Now as per question,

Let common acceleration is a,

F = (M1 +M2) ×a

5 = 0.75 × a

a = 5/0.75 =500/75 = 6.67 m/s²
