A force of 5 n is acting on an object.the object is displaced through 2 m in the direction of the force acts on the force.if the force on the object all through the displacement, then work done is 5 n*2m =10 n m or 10 j.with steps

it is 10 nm

F=5N
S=2m

W=F×S
=5N×2M
=10NM
The unit *J* i.e Joule is only applicable for power not for work done.

Given :

Force (F) =  5 N

Displacement (ds) = 2 m

To Find :

Work done in displacing the object

Solution :

Work is said to be done when an object is displaced from its initial position under the action of a force.

Work done = Force × Displacement

As force = 5 N and Displacement = 2 m

∴ Work done    =  5 × 2

                         = 10 J

Therefore, Work done in displacing the object is 10 J
