Given,

A force of 50 N acts on a body and moves it a distance of 4 m on a horizontal surface.

To Find,

The work done if the direction of force is at an angle of 60° to the horizontal surface.

Solution,

Force (F) = 50 N

Distance travelled by the body (S) = 4 m

Angle between the force and the direction of movement (θ) = 60°

We know that,

Work (W) = F x S cosθ

= 50 x 4 cos60°

= 200\time\dfrac{1}{2}

= 100 J

Therefore the work done is 100J.

Knowledge Bytes:

→ When we apply a force on an object and it moves in the direction of the applied force, then we can say that we have done a work.

→ Work [W} is the product of force and the displacement caused by the force.

→ Work done can be positive, negative or zero.

→ The SI unit of work is Joule (J).

→ For 1 Joule work to be done, we need to apply 1 N force and the displacement caused would be 1 m.

Answer:

quantum number is a value that is used when describing the energy levels available to atoms and molecules. An electron in an atom or ion has four quantum numbers to describe its state and yield solutions to the Schrödinger wave equation for the hydrogen atom. ... n - principal quantum number: describes the energy level.
