Given,
Force, F=5N
Acceleration,a=8
Using, F=ma
5=m1 x 8
or m1=5/8 kg
For second mass,
Acceleration, a=24
Force, F=5 N
Again using F=ma
F=m2 x 24
or m2=5/24 kg
When both the masses are tied together,
Then total mass, m=m1+m2
m=(5/8)+(5/24)=20/24 kg
Now,
F=ma
or 5=(20/24)a
or a=6
Force, F=5N
Acceleration,a=8
Using, F=ma
5=m1 x 8
or m1=5/8 kg
For second mass,
Acceleration, a=24
Force, F=5 N
Again using F=ma
F=m2 x 24
or m2=5/24 kg
When both the masses are tied together,
Then total mass, m=m1+m2
m=(5/8)+(5/24)=20/24 kg
Now,
F=ma
or 5=(20/24)a
or a=6
