Correct Question -

A force of 7 Newton acts on an object .

The displacement is say 8 m in the direction of the force .

Let us take that the force acts on the object through displacement .

What is the work done in this case ?

See the attached figure .

Solution -

In the above Question , we have the following information -

A force of 7 Newton acts on an object .

The resultant displacement is 8 m in the direction of the force .

Let us assume that the force act on the object through the displacement .

Here , we have to find the work done .

Now, we know that -

Work Done is equal to force × displacement

Or ,

 \sf{ Work \: Done = \vec{ F } \times \vec{ r } }

Where -

F is the force acting on the object .

r is the resultant displacement .

Work Done is the cross product between the force applied and that's work done .

Hence ,

Required Work Done

=> 7 N × 8 m

=> 56 N m

=> 56 Joules .

Hence the required answer is 56 Joules ...
