A force of 7N acts on an object. the displacement is,say 8m,in the direction of the force. let us take in that the force acts on the the object through the displacement. what is the work done inthis case (this que is of physics)

hey...

Ans. F=7N

        s = 8 m

        W = F × s

        = 7 N × 8 m

        W = 56J

        ∴ Work done is 56 J.

hope it helps

Given:

  • Force = 7 N.
  • Displacement = 8 metres
  • The force is in the direction of the displacement.

To find:

  • Work done ?

Calculation:

  • The work done is actually a scalar product of force and displacement vector.

  • Also, since the force vector is in the direction of the displacement vector, the angle between the two vectors will be equal to 0°.

W = F \times d \times  \cos( \theta)

 \implies \: W = 7 \times 8 \times  \cos( {0}^{ \circ} )

 \implies \: W = 7 \times 8 \times  1

 \implies \: W = 56 \: joule

So, the work done by the force is 56 Joule .
