Given:-

→ Force acting = 8 N

→ Initial velocity of the particle = 5 m/s

→ Final velocity of the particle = 7 m/s

→ Time taken = 2s

To find:-

→ Mass of the particle.

Solution:-

By Newton's 2nd law of motion, we know that :-

F = m(v - u)/t

Where :-

F is the force acting.

m is mass of the particle.

v is final velocity of the particle.

u is initial velocity of the particle.

t is time taken.

Substituting values, we get :-

=> 8 = m(7 - 5)/2

=> 8 = m(2)/2

=> 8 = 2m/2

=> m = 8 kg

Thus, mass of the body is 8kg [Option.c]

Some Extra Information:-

2nd law of motion : Rate of change of momentum is difectly proportional to the force applied and it takes place in the direction of force.

i.e. F m(v - u)/t
