A force of a 10 Newton acts an area of 0.1m². If the force remains the same but area iss reduced to half calculate the pressure. What would be the effect on pressure.

Initially
Pressure = Force / Area
= 10 N / (0.1 m²)
= 100 Pa ……[1]
If Area is reduced to half then final Area = 0.1/2 = 0.05 m²
Presure = Force / Area
= 10 N / (0.05 m²)
= 200 Pa ……[2]
Presure will be equal to 200 Pa
From [1] and [2] it’s clear that Presure is doubled on decreasing the area to half of its initial.
