Given:

A force of magnitude of 12N is applied on the body kept on a table in the east direction another force of 15N is applied on the Same body in the west direction.

To find:

  • If the body moves or not

  • In which direction , does it move ?

Calculation:

12 N force is towards east and 15 N force is towards west , so the net force will be :

 \boxed{ \rm{F_{net} = 15 - 12 = 3 \: newton}}

This 3 N force will be directed towards west.

Considering the object to be initially at rest , the object will move towards west due to application of net force towards west.

So, final answer is:

 \boxed{ \bf{object \: moves \: toward \: west}}
