A force produces an acceleration of 16 ms-2 in a body of mass 0.5 kg and an acceleration of 4.0 m/s2 in another body. If both the bodies are fastened together, then how much acceleration will be produced by this force?

Answer:

3.2m/s^2

Explanation:

We know that, force=Mass*acceleration

Let force1 be F1, so F1=0.5*16=8N

Since same force F1 is applied on other block the other body Mass is calculated as 8=mass*4

Mass=2kg

Now the total Mass becomes 0.5+2=2.5kg

Here on both fastened bodies same force is applied, so 8=2.5*acceleration

Acceleration =3.2m/s^2

Hope you find helpful. Please thanks.
