since a $ attribute is not included, the cell addresses in the formula changes relative to the change you make in the cell which contains the formula.

that means, when you move the forrmula to a cell in row 2 from a cell in row 3, the formulla changes it's row numbers accordingly.

You can avoid this by adding the $ attribute to the original formula as follows;

=A$2*B$2

then the formula will remain the same
