After 10 days :

For 450 soldiers, provision are sufficient for (40 – 10) days = 30 days

For 1 soldier, provision are sufficient for 30 x 450 days

For 540 soldiers, the provision are sufficient for

= (30 × 450)/540 = (30 × 50)/60 = 25 days
